LAST CHANCE - SEASON ONE OF ROME LAST AIRING

Evelyn Here,

Okay here it is. The last chance to see season one of HBO's Rome. For those of you who still have not caught the show, Rome will be airing on HBO2 throughout the rest of the summer. Rome’s second season begins in January 2007. Once the season two ends there will be no more Rome for us devoted fans.

Although many distraught fans are already mourning the series lost and are beginning to request from the series creators and producers a third season, at the BBC Rome website the BBC posted, “this series in now ended”. That seems final to me. However, for the millions of diehard fans out there, the links below is where you can contact the HBO and the BBC about renewing Rome.

Fans must remember that it was the cost of producing the series in Italy that helped HBO and the BBC maintain their original decision to keep Rome as a two season mini-series and not the lack of viewer-ship because the show is an international success..

Nevertheless, Rome will air every Saturday night at 9 PM ET on HBO2. In addition, the first season of Rome is now on sale.

The collage above was made with a photo from the series. It is the satandard used by the XIII legion to which Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson) and Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) belong.

Some Interesting Quotes And Proverbs

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

Below are some interesting quotes and proverbs on Teamwork, Self-Respect., Self-Awareness, and on being - Woman.

----------

On Teamwork . . .

Robert F. Bales
Effective teamwork will not take the place of knowing how to do the job or how to manage the work. Poor teamwork, however, can prevent effective final performance. And it can also prevent team members from gaining satisfaction in being a member of a team and the organization.

---

Henry Ford
Coming together is a beginning.
Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success.
---

Robert F. Bales
Effective teamwork will not take the place of knowing how to do the job or how to manage the work. Poor teamwork, however, can prevent effective final performance. And it can also prevent team members from gaining satisfaction in being a member of a team and the organization.
----------

On Self-Respect . . .

Doc Childre, Self Empowerment
Self-empowerment - that's learning to respect other people's music, but dance to your own tune as you master harmony within yourself.
----

Jane Haddam
In my day, we didn't have self-esteem, we had self-respect, and no more of it than we had earned.

----

Anonymous
Self-respect can be a extension of your ego or a priceless virtue.

----------

On Self-Awareness . . .

Doc Childre and Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution
When emotions are managed by the heart, they heighten your awareness of the world around you and add sparkle to life. The result is new intelligence and a new view of life. Just be sincere in your efforts and appreciate the progress you make, not expecting to be free from unpleasant emotions all at once. Each success builds more power and excitement. It gets easier as you go. When long-standing emotional issues lose some of their intensity and importance, things won't bother you as much.

----

John Wesley
When I was young I was sure of everything; in a few years, having been mistaken a thousand times, I was not half so sure of most things as I was before; at present, I am hardly sure of anything but what God has revealed to me.
----

Sydney J. Harris
It's surprising how many persons go through life without ever recognizing that their feelings toward other people are largely determined by their feelings toward themselves, and if you're not comfortable within yourself, you can't be comfortable with others.
----

William Faulkner
Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.

----------

On and From Women . . .

Eleanor Roosevelt
You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
----

Lauren Bacall
Imagination is the highest kite one can fly.
----

Doc Childre and Bruce Cryer, From Chaos to Coherence
To avoid repeating the same energy-draining fights of the past 30 years and accomplish something lasting, the coherent self-empowered woman will learn to bypass reactive, energy-draining stances. She will recognize it is more intelligent and effective to do so. Taking a heart stand facilitates a whole new level of power and renewal by being the vehicle for actualizing core values, free of mental and emotional reactiveness that add more noise to a noisy system. Conscious heart intention is the first step, derived from the intuitive link and balance between mind and heart, increasing the power of both.
----

Edna O'Brien
The vote means nothing to women. We should be armed.

Todays Christian Woman

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

Today I overheard some pointless remarks that made me thankful to be the christian woman that I am becoming. I say "becoming" because I believe as Catholics we are always trying to become better christians every day of our lives.

In so saying this, I will not repeat what I overheard. However, it was right in the middle of the category called major "trashy". The remarks was so unexpected in a workplace that I believe that everyone in hearing distance was offended.

From my point of view there has been too much of this women belittling women business.  Which is nothing but bad business. As one woman told me, it is about jealousy. However, I think it just lack of respect and lack of manners towards the person the remarks were aimed at and those of us who were unfortunate the overheard them.

I believe that when people go out of their way to belittle another as these women did today, they lose a bit of self-respect and respect in the eyes others.

While surfing the web as is my want I came across the following link for Todays Christian Woman Com. I also subscribed to the magazine.

You have heard the saying, "Crime does not pay". Well, trafficking in illegal drugs certainly did not pay for one Collier County man who is now going to served a sentence of eighty-five months in state prison. Collazo-Lopez was arrested in January 2006 after selling cocaine to undercover agents twice last year. Below is the news release from the Office of the General, Charlie Crist.

Collier County Man Gets 7 Years for Cocaine Trafficking

TALLAHASSEE - Attorney General Charlie Crist today announced that a
Collier County man has been sentenced to 85 months in state prison after
pleading guilty to trafficking in cocaine. Yudemich Collazo-Lopez pled
guilty to trafficking in more than $3,400 worth of drugs.

Acting on information from a confidential informant, authorities
purchased four ounces of cocaine from Collazo-Lopez, 24, during two
separate controlled buys in December 2004 and January 2005. Collazo-Lopez
was arrested in January 2006. The investigation and arrest were conducted
by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Collazo-Lopez was prosecuted by
Crist’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.

"Illegal drugs threaten our families and tear apart our communities,"
said Crist. "Drug dealers have no place in our neighborhoods and must be
prevented from harming countless Floridians."

Collazo-Lopez pled guilty to two counts of trafficking in cocaine, 28
grams or more, and one count of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, 28 grams
or more. Both charges are first-degree felonies and carry a minimum
mandatory sentence of three years in state prison. A co-conspirator, Osmani
Martinez, 34, was also arrested in January for participating in one of the
buys. He is charged with one count of trafficking in cocaine, 28 grams or
more, and one count of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, 28 grams or more.
Those charges are pending.

In addition to the prison sentence, Collazo-Lopez was ordered to pay
$150,000 in fines and investigative costs. The sentence was handed down by
Collier County Circuit Court Judge Franklin G. Baker.

My God - An Orginal Poem

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

Below is a poem praising our Lord, Jesus Christ. I wrote it back in October of 2005. i ran across it today while looking for another document. I edit a litle but I still think it needs some work.  Nevertheless, here is "My God".

----------

My God

My God is an amazing God,

He loves me despite of me.

My Lord sees in me a heart of gold

with faults easily cleanse of sin.

My God knows that I love him

first and best of all.

My Lord, my God , my amazing King.

My God carries me through life's daily trials

that sometimes seems too great for me,

and He 's there to catch me before a fall.

My Lord wipes away the grievous tears

that others fail see, and embraces me

with spiritual mercy and tenderness.

My Lord, my God , my amazing King.
