Governor Crist and "Note's From the Capital"

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

with an excerpt from the current issue of Governor Crist "Note's From the Capital".

----------

Dear Friends,

I am very proud of the turnout by our fellow Floridians on Tuesday's Election Day. No matter your political party– you showed great patriotism and your voice was heard.

You have spoken and you will receive the tax cut you deserve.  It will help reignite Florida’s economy.

This week I unveiled my proposed $70 billion budget.

Tuesday's approval of Amendment 1 is estimated to save Floridians$9.3

billion during the first five years. My proposed education budget will hold education harmless in light of the people's vote to lower taxes. The proposal also includes over $26 million to offset any potential impacts to fiscally constrained counties, beginning July 2009.

Your priorities and needs are reflected in my budget proposal. The budget will maintain what we have gained, preserve critical programs to help those in need, and strengthen our economy by investing wisely and strategically in growing industries like clean technology.

My budget recommendations ensure your continued safety, protect our natural resources, and spur economic development through building Florida's innovation economy.  Financial support is provided to those who adopt children with special needs from foster care. The budget will also improve access to affordable health care.

My budget will preserve the hope, safety, opportunity and optimism of the people of this great state.

Thank you and God bless Florida.
