"What we've seen in the past is an increase of complaints about loud
automobiles (this time of year)," said Traffic Sgt. Dane Person.

First-time offenders pay $150, plus towing and impound fees. The fine jumps
to $300 for the second offense and $750 for a third offense within two

Although Florida's fee are lower at this time, there is oncoming work going on to strengthen the law and offender's fees.

Hillary Vows to Stay in Race 100 Years Nixes Exit Strategy
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stunned voters at a town hall meeting in Erie, Pennsylvania today by telling them that she was prepared to stay in the nomination fight for an additional century.

“How much longer will I stay in the race?” she responded to a voter’s question. “Fifty years? How about one hundred years?”

When asked to clarify, Sen. Clinton replied, “I’ll stay in this race for a thousand years. A million years. A billion years.”

Sen. Clinton added that she was refusing to announce an exit strategy from the race because “that would send the wrong message to the enemy.”

The New York senator’s comments echoed a strategy outlined in a recently leaked internal campaign memo, which calls for her to remain in the race long after the Democratic National Convention, even if Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) becomes the party’s official nominee.

According to the memo, Sen. Clinton plans to follow Sen. Obama’s campaign bus around in a Chevy Suburban in the hopes of running it off the road.

“If necessary, we will sideswipe or ram into his bus,” the memo said. “Just really mess him up.”

For her part, Sen. Clinton remained resolute at the town hall meeting, responding to a question about the recent surge in negative attacks her campaign has lobbed in Sen. Obama’s direction: “What can I tell you? The surge is working.”

Elsewhere, to inaugurate the 2008 Major League Baseball season, former pitching great Roger Clemens threw out the first syringe.

Governor Crist Congrtulates The 'Sunshine Week Essay Contest' Award Winners

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

with an excerpt from Governor chaarlie Crist and "Notes From the Capital".

Dear Friends,

As the legislative session passed the midway point this week, my priorities continue to be focused on strengthening Florida's economy and ensuring the best quality of life possible for every Floridian.

This week, we celebrated Florida's commitment to government in the Sunshine State with a reception at the Governor's Mansion.  Advocates for open government joined me in congratulating high school students for their award-winning entries to the Sunshine Week Essay Contest.

At the Take Stock in Children Rally, hundreds of students celebrated the generous sponsors and mentors who are helping them achieve their dreams in education.  These public-private partnerships help support world-class education that is key to students and the economic future of our state.

I encourage you to actively participate in the legislative process on these and other issues as the legislative session continues this week.

Thank you very much and may God continue to bless Florida.

Weekly Message from Attorney General Bill McCollum

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

with an excerpt from Attirney Genral Bill McCollum's Generally Speaking.

Weekly Message from Attorney General Bill McCollum

Here in Florida, we have expanded our efforts to keep our children safe online, but investigation and prosecution is only half of that battle. Education is the key to winning the fight against internet child predators. With only a couple of months left in the school year, my office is still working to get our CyberSafety presentations into as many schools as possible to educate our children about internet safety.

Last week, my CyberSafety Program exceeded the 50,000 student mark, reaching more than 53,000 students to date throughout the state. But we need to reach them all. Every parent, grandparent, teacher and child need to know the facts and must be ready to help us stop these predators before they can hurt other children.

Earlier this year, I was joined by Education Commissioner Eric Smith to announce a statewide CyberSafety challenge to school principals to sign their schools up for CyberSafety Education presentations. Volunteers from my office have been traveling throughout the state since the beginning of the school year, bringing this very important message to our children. I have personally presented this program to numerous students in various cities, including two schools earlier this week in Port St. Lucie and Stuart.

Yesterday, I spoke with all of Florida's District School Superintendents and urged them to support this initiative by appointing someone within every single school district to facilitate this process. This cooperative approach is essential as we work to reach as many children as possible.

Principals can visit http://www.safeflorida.net/safeschools to log into a site developed specifically to register schools to receive the Attorney General's CyberSafety presentation, and then sign up for presentations at a time that works with their schedules. Please encourage your child's principal to do so.

The presentations are available to schools as well as parent groups and have been hailed as among the best in the nation by John Walsh, co-founder of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and host of America's Most Wanted. This cybersafety message will save lives, and I applaud the principals who have made it apriority to get this information to their students. Together, we will continue making Florida a safer place for our children.

Boom Cars

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

The boom car drivers in this area have no respect for their neighbors peace of minds.  I woke a little after 5 AM this morning and by 7 AM there was at least one boom car leaving the avenue.  I am assuming that this is one of my neighbors going to work.

From that time onward the were several boom cars entering, leaving ar passing the avenue. The results have been that I have spent a lot of unnecessary time calling the police department.

What a boring way for them to spend their time., but this is part of a revenge thing that been going on in this area for several years.  The police can issue the offenders tickets when they are caught but the boom car drivers are playing cat and mouse with the police department.

Update: I have just come from outside and the police department have caught one of boom cars driver on my avenue.  What a glorious evening!

Noise OFF: The Citizens Coalition Against Noise Pollution

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

With a sincere message from me to you.

I am wife, mother, secretary, webmaster, and freelance journalist, who is being victimized by teenage boom car driver and his family. I have just joined Noise OFF to share my experiences with people who understand the problems and the effects boom cars drivers have on a neighborhood and on an individual as well.

Why have I joined a group whose aim is to help in the fights to stamp out the problems that boom car’s drivers create?

I have joined Noise OFF because local law enforcement cannot solve the problems alone. They need reliable people to report each incident, educate others in the community on the threat boom car’s drivers pose, and pass on intelligent and proven solutions.

I suppose like many others members I am the victim of noise pollution in my neighborhood. This is an on going situation that began a few years ago wit some neighborhood who play they automobile sound system so loud that I can heard it blocks away. At presence, there is a teenage boy, who has little respect for his neighbors on a good day and no respect for them when asked not to do something that is clearly against the laws. Nevertheless, his mother does not dissuade him from his illegal acts and other families member, lately he is being encouraged by some neighbors who until recently sold illegal drugs openly on ours streets.

I have report this young boy to the police department many times, and they have informed this youth and his mother that he must stop because he is breaking law. However, this teenage and his families are not listening to anyone who is on their side. Hence, the bad influence from up the street.

I am told by the police department to keep calling and reporting this young boy’s sound loud music and any other loud music coming from “boom cars.” This I do, but there is little to no respect for law enforcement on these streets and avenues where these problems originate.

Hopefully, by posting links to some of the site where more informationabout boom cars, loud music, and law enforcement role in control such offenders will help other in my area join me in getting our streets and avenue back to the peaceful level of common noises we can tolerate.

Below are a few links to sites that explain the more about “Boom Car Drivers”, the law governing noise with the state of Florida and some cases history and solutions.

CONTINUOUS TROUBLE ON THE AVENUE – BETTER STREET LIGHTING ON THE WAY

Hello everyone,

Evelyn here,

I been working towards getting hat additional light of the corner where the families who keep this avenue and the neighborhood in an uproar. There is an agreement to upgrade to presence lighting system and trim back some of tree. I will also be looking another having a street lamp installed in front of my property. According to reliable sources, this first six feet of property belongs to the city and having street lamp installed in form of my property for neighborhood safety purposes should be no problem.  I made it known that to install a street light directly front on my property is okay with me.

There are more activities on the streets in the evening and particularly on the weekends where drivers and I believe they are younger drivers who have connection with the teenage troublemaker across the street from me that are causing the continual upset on ours streets.

Two night ago the mother of the teenage boy who has been playing his car music loud regardless of the number of time the police has been out to his house got a visit from the St. Petersburg Police department. Apparently, this young boy and his female companion got into a little trouble with another resident of the block, and as usual, his mother lied in his defense to the officer on the scene.

I do not know what the trouble was between the two families. However, I do know that the police officers on the scene were informed that this was the same young boy who stalked me and tried force me to drive at higher speeds on that winding rode by tailgating closely behind me recently. If I turned right onto a street, he would also. If I turned right, he would also. When I stopped to let him drive by with the hopes of getting hisplate number he only drove up into traffic and then pulled over then got up behind me again and continued his attempt to force me to drive faster.

Keep in mind I was on a made a 911 call while most of this was happening. I believe this young troublemaker spotted me on my cell phone and figured out that I was talking to the police department, or he just realized how much traffic was out there that morning and the number of drivers watching him. Whatever the case, he stopped perusing me and drove off ahead on the rode until I lost sight of him and I never got his plate number.

Now he hides his plate number whenever he is home by backing his car up front of his mother house as close as he can to stop me or other people from getting his plate number. His mother and the other young female who lives in that house park their car on the side and front of his to help hide the plate number. However, if the car he drives, a light blue Sebring (2006 – 2008), is not registered to him, it is probably in his mother’s name.

Since this young boy began his harassment of me and other neighbors on the block there has been more incidents of music being played at odd of the night on this avenue and the one near by it. There has even been strange activity out here at 3.00 AM in the morning that cause me to do a crime watch check of the area. I reported what I saw to the police department.

The police department has had cruisers out in this area more lately. However, the troublemakers are taking advantage of their absences and the knowledge that by the time the police officers shows up on the scene they (the troublemakers) are either gone or have stop the disturbance.

For a better and safer neighborhood, we must stand together and make those reports to the police department.

You can always remain anonymous when you make your reports. There is a crime tip number on the sidebar of this site. You can also call the community police officers and contact Mayor Baker.

Dems Face a Long Brawl - It McCain Comes Back To Seize GOP Nomination

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

According to Associated Press Hillary Rodman Clinton has won the Democratic primary in Texas. Yesterday she won both the Rhode Island Democratic primary, and the Ohio Democratic primary. Obama is indeed on the losing in. Does this mean he his campaign is on the end? If so, is it fair or too earlier to ask, if Hillary will choose him, as a running mate should she wins the prize? However, with Hillary now attacking Obama’s work; it appears unlikely.

Dems Face a Long Brawl

Clinton's Lesson: Attacking Obama Works

From my point of view, there is nothing Hillary can say of Obama that will damage him more with the voters than that photograph of him dressed in the muslin garb of his family in Kenya. Although Obama is not a Muslim, and has stated that he has never been one,  yet that photograph of him with his grandfather has the power to play on the voters fear factors as long as the war with Iran continues. Tough break.

Yesterday - According to Associated Press John McCain has won the Republican presidential nomination and now has seven weeks to prepare himself the battle with the Democratic winner. Who will it be Clinton or Obama? Moreover, Mike Huckabee withdrew from the presidential race after John McCain clinches the GOP nomination. Who will be John McCain’s running mate? Ron Paul? I do not see.

Breaking News
Bush Says He Lets Red Phone Go Straight to Voicemail ‘Baffled’ By Clinton Campaign Ads, President Says
President George W. Bush commented on Sen. Hillary Clinton’s controversial “red phone” campaign ads at the White House today, telling reporters, “When that red phone rings, I just let it go straight to voicemail.”

Mr. Bush rarely comments about the Democratic presidential contest, but he said that he had to speak up about Sen. Clinton’s red phone ads because he found them “so confusing.”

“If I answered the red phone every time it rang, I would never get any sleep,” Mr. Bush said. “Sometimes it starts ringing at 9 PM, and I am already tucked in by then.”

Mr. Bush said that “there’s nothing so important that it can’t wait until tomorrow, or whenever I remember to check my voicemail.”

In a rebuke of Sen. Clinton, Mr. Bush added, “If she doesn’t know about letting your calls go straight to voicemail, I don’t think she has the experience to be president.”

Campaigning in Houston, former President Bill Clinton took issue with Mr. Bush’s remarks, telling reporters, “When I get a call at 3 AM, I always pick up, if you know what I mean.”

Pressed to explain exactly what he meant, the former president said, “Three o’clock in the morning – come on! Odds are we’re talking about a booty call.”

Shortly after his “booty call” remark, the Clinton campaign said that they were revising the former president’s itinerary to focus on states that had already voted in February.

Elsewhere, Sen. John McCain released a new series of campaign ads, showing him answering a telegraph key at 3 A.M.

Protectors

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

Once while at a function given in honor of Governor Crist, all that attended notice him look out a window to a group of people milling about outside. Turning from the window the governor and said to those of us gather there, “They say you haven’t arrived until you got protectors”.

Well, because of some known and unknown members of this community, many who are sorely lacking in moral integrity, I must have “arrived” some years ago. However, let me say this to those who are of a want to pester me. This site clearly states. ‘As always, this is a public blog and is intended for the readers 21 and over. PARENTAL CONTROL IS STORNGLY ADVISED” in the description at the top left. By 21 or over, I am saying mature adult only! However, this there are those of you who feel you cannot cope with what is posted here on these pages, perhaps you are not the latter and should not be read my site.

Also, I will be removing the following sentence, PARENTAL CONTROL IS STORNGLY ADVISED, and replacing that statement with “It is this writer’s recommendation that ABSOLUTELY NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 21 be allowed to read this site as it contains adult subject matter and is not suitable the young.”

In addition, since I am acknowledging that I have “arrived”, let me add this for the protectors. Stop to stalking me in front of my home, my work place, and any other place I might travel, it is against the law, and you are reported. Such past actions have gained you nothing, but have gotten many people in trouble with the law as well as caused some to lose their jobs.

Furthermore, stop using the handicapped. You have done this for years, and it is time to leave them along. These are cowardly actions and they are and never been a part of your delusional battle. My respect level for you drops to an all time low whenever I realized that you pulled someone who is handicapped into a situation that is clearly not his or her problem.

In conclusion, I strongly suggest you leave my family, my friends, and me alone. And by all means, if you cannot handle what you read here, STOP READING MY SITE!

GOVERNOR CRIS SPEAKS ON THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS HIS OFFICE HAS MADE TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF FLORIDIANS

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

In this special message from Governor Cris speaks on the accomplishments his office has made to improve the lives of the citizens of Florida.

----------

February 29, 2008

Dear Friend,

Next week, the Florida Legislature will gather in Tallahassee for the beginning of the 2008 Legislative Session. According to tradition, I will deliver the State of the State Address on the first day, next Tuesday, March 4, at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and Senate.

This year, however, I have asked House Speaker Marco Rubio and Senate President Ken Pruitt to hold this joint meeting during the evening, rather than the morning as in years past. An evening address will give many Floridians the opportunity to watch the address live from their homes and learn more about the issues that affect them most.

During the past 14 months, we have lowered property taxes, renewed efforts to protect our natural environment, and opened government to new rays of sunshine. Our many accomplishments have improved the lives of Floridians, and I am grateful for the work and dedication of our Legislature and all the individuals in state government who tirelessly serve the citizens of our great state.

I invite you to tune in next Tuesday evening to learn how – with the help of the Florida Legislature – we can continue strengthening Florida’s families, schools and economy while also protecting our neighborhoods and natural resources.

Governor Cris Announces His Fitness Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here

This weekly excerpt from “Notes from the Capital” focuses on the Governor's Fitness Challenge, which centered on getting elementary schools and students involved in daily physical activities that promote good health and fitness.

----------

Dear Friends,

This week we focused on improving the health and physical fitness of Floridians. We restored the Governor's Baseball Dinner to honor Major League Baseball and Minor League clubs who train throughout the spring and summer here in Florida. The dinner is a wonderful opportunity to thank baseball for their long and storied history in our state that goes back nearly a century.

Sports like baseball are a great way to encourage outdoor activities and get Floridians excited about being physically active.

This week I announced the Governor's Fitness Challenge. This is an eight-week challenge that encourages elementary schools and students to participate in physical activity. The Challenge focuses on five activities that can be completed during or after the school day.

Participating schools have the opportunity to win thousands of dollars' worth of sports or fitness equipment — or a visit from a Florida professional athlete or Olympian.  Schools will also have the opportunity to receive a designation as a Governor's Fitness Champion School. The registration deadline for individuals and schools is Friday, March 7, 2008. Registration forms and more information about the Challenge can be found at www.GovernorsFitnessChallenge.com

Physical fitness is an important part of the development of young children. I hope you will join me in this cause to build a better future for our young people by teaching them how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Thank you and may God continue to bless Florida.

Top Right: Cal Ripken Jr. receives a check on behalf of the 2008 Governor's Baseball Dinner to benefit the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and go toward establishing a youth baseball program in the Tampa Bay area.  The Foundation's programs use baseball and softball to develop character and give disadvantaged youth opportunities to succeed.

Middle Left: A student demonstrates the Broad Jump, which measures lower body strength, during a recent school visit where Governor Charlie Crist announced the Governor's Fitness Challenge.

Governor Crist Marks Conclusion of Black History Month at Mansion Event

James Gibson (right), one of the original Florida Highwaymen artists, presented his painting Boca Ciega Bay to the State of Florida at this week's Black History Month celebration at the Governor's Mansion.  Governor Crist hosted more than 200 community leaders, educators and students to mark the conclusion of Black History Month. He honored Points of Light winners, educators, and student essay-contest winners.

Gibson's painting is inspired by Boca Ciega Bay near St. Petersburg, Governor Crist's hometown. He is one of eight original Highwaymen artists who, beginning in the 1950s, sold Florida landscape art on the sides of highways in the Fort Pierce area.

THE CLOSE OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND THE CONTINUAL FIGHT AGAINST RACISM

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

with excerpt from the Attorney General, Bill McCollum's "Generally Speaking on the close of Black History month and the continual fight against racism.

Weekly Message from Attorney General Bill McCollum

As Black History Month draws to an end today, I wish to remind Floridians that while we have made significant progress fighting racial injustice, we cannot assume that it has been eradicated. As my Office of Civil Rights is all too aware, we must continue to fight to protect the ideals of freedom, equality and acceptance because we have not yet reached these noble goals, in spite of the more than four decades since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 became the law of the land.

Just within the past few weeks, my Office of Civil Rights became aware that an apartment complex in Central Florida was turning away African Americans looking to rent apartments. Several were told there was no space or were asked to leave, when there were not only several vacancies but also invitations extended to others of a different race to rent immediately. This is such an outrage that I struggle to comprehend that it is happening in this day and age. Needless to say, my office has launched a full investigation and we intend to protect the civil rights of those who were turned away from this complex. Such an injustice cannot go unaddressed.

Situations such as this should make us consider and appreciate our valuable rights to be free and to live in a country where all men and all women should be treated equally and should be able to exercise the same freedom. Next Tuesday, we will see one of the greatest exercises in freedom and democracy as our state Legislators travel to the Capitol to convene the 2008 Florida Legislative Session.

As Florida?s Attorney General, I am working with your senators and representatives on several important pieces of legislation this session, including one to protect our communities from gangs, one to eradicate marijuana grow houses, one to protect homeowners facing foreclosure from additional scams, and one to ensure that victims of Florida-based child pornography have a voice in court and the ability to pursue civil remedies for their victimization. I want to encourage the leaders of Florida to keep the public safety of all our citizens a top priority.

HBO Presents John Adams

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

Since making the transition of dividing my very interests into separates web sites, it is seldom that I come across a film that not only fits the scoop of this site but also the high level of informational within American history. The following entry is from the current post I wrote for my “It’s A Woman’s Thing – "The Woman Within" Fan Page.

03.01.08 – Beginning at 8 PM on March 16th HBO will air a new miniseries on
the life one of America founding father. This epic seven part miniseries is
recreation of life the John Adam, who with an unfailing independent spirit
became the American Republic first ambassador to Holland and England, the
first American Vice President, the second American President, and father of
the sixth American President.

Based on David McCullough's Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, which was
drawn from an extensive collection of letters, diaries and family papers, the
miniseries stars Paul Giamatti as John Adams and Laura Linney as Abigail
Adams.

One of the most stirring and thought provoking phrase every written with on
paper and still retains its important and place in the lives of all Americans
today were written by John Adams in 1765, and he wrote, “Let us dare to read,
think, speak and write.” There is not a politician or writer, past or present,
who does not understand the true meaning of this phrase and everyone,
should take it to heart because it contains the essence of what it means to be
truly free.

HBO’s presentation of John Adams will have airdates from March 16 through
April 20.

Letter from John Adams to Abigail Smith, 11 April 1764.

Bad New Sebring

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

Today is a very productive day for me. As I am working on each of my web sites. However, I want to mention that I am not unaware of the that teenage boy across the street disturbing the peace with his sound music.  I have reported him several times, and I do not think a police department's communication sector has sent anyone out to stop that boy from playing his car stereo so loud that it shake my house.

I have been told by the police department's communication sector that because this teenage boy stops playing the music while I speaking with them that I should call again when he is playing it.  That is a senseless reason for not sending a patrol car out to speaks with that teenage boy and/or his family to discover why has continuously disregard the law and continued to play the car stereo so loud repeatedly especially when he and his family knew years ago when they did this same thing that it was disturbing my household.

This is the same teenage boy who early last week stalked me and attempted to tailgate with the intent to force me to drive faster on a winding road. He is young, brash, and disrespectful with a mother who encourages his behavior. He drive a light blue Chrysler Sebring, a newer model. His mother drives an older Pathfinder, black in color. He drove another car last night and I report it and gave the police department's communication sector that plate number of the car. The car was left unattended with the engine running and the music playing, and this is the first time that was done.

Keep in mind that this familyhave harassed me and my family a few years back, and that they have done the same to other families and might be behind that people who are stalking me and my husband now and attempting todamage our new car.
