Blade: The Series

Hello everyone,

Evelyn here,

I have something here for those of you who are diehard fans of the Blade Trilogy starring Wesley Snipes as the half human, half vampire hunter best known as the "Day Walker".  Well, for those of you who feel your veins are once more plump enough for another bout with this master vampire hunter, Spike TV has shown its 2-hour premiere of Blade: The Series this past Wednesday nigh from 8PM to 10PM.

I watched a little of the show and liked what I saw.  The settings is in Detroit city and many of the scenes are at night (lots of dark and shadows).  The young actor Kirk "Sticky" Jones stars as Blade in this new television pilot, and from what I have viewed so far, he is very impressive and comes across with the same dark, no nonsense aura that Wesley Snipes developed for movie version of Blade. Kirk has stated that he does 95% of his stunts, and for those of us who have missed the strong arms toting, butts kicking female protagonist, there is Jill Wagner who plays a woman bent on revenging the murder of her twin brother. She too is a welcome surprise.

This is all I have to share on the series at this time. It promises to surpassed Angel and a few other vampire series of the past. However, its violence content is very high and equal to that of its movie versions, so it would probably be a good idea to steer younger viewers away.

Blade : The Series can be seen on Spike TV every Wednesday night at 10PM. For more on this phenomenal new series checkout the following links.
