Xena Returns - Fan Fiction

Hello everyone,

Evelyn here,

and it is time for fun, fun fun. At least what I call fun. Last summer I started writing a return story for the Xena Warrior Princess. However, like many other stories I have started, this one got set of side for other things. Tonight I am going to start posting segments from the story as I finish them. This is part on my original fan fiction, and the idea for the story came to me when the buzz on the web was alive with a possible theater movie of series with Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor as their perspective characters of Xena and Gabrielle. So far no movie and as far as I know there is still a battle over who own the rights to the series and character. In writing this segments I asked myself how and what would be the circumstances that would warrants the return of our beloved warrior princess, and what is follows is the answer. At least part of the answer since this story is still in progress.

The story picks up where the last two episodes of Xena Warrior Princess let off with “A Friend In Need I and II. I entitled my creation “Resurrection: The Return of
Xena Warrior Princess”. Enjoy this first
segment of “Resurrection: The Return of Xena Warrior Princess” by Evelyn F. Altheimer-Fain.

Many the characters in this story are from the Xena Warrior Princess original series, but I have added a few of my own. In the writing of this story, no injury was intended to USA Studios, Renaissance Pictures, or to the creators of the series. This is a work of fiction and any resemblance to persons alive or dead is coincidental.

Feedback and Introductory Scenario

At the end the series finale, “A Friend in Need, Part II”, Xena and Gabrielle were aboard a ship headed for Egypt. Xena was very much a ghost of herself, and Gabrielle was far from being the perky, naive traveling barb she started out as in season one. The now Gabrielle with her short blond hair, stilettos filled boots, and short crimsoned hot pants was now a mature and strong warrior woman in her own right. Not only did she carry Xena’s chakram that she discovered she could use with deadly accuracy, she carried herbeloved friend’s burnt reminds.

Xena had been beheaded in the Japanese city of Higuchi after losing a battle to Yodoshi’s samurai general who sought to stop Xena and the Ghost Killer from destroying his master and there by preventing Xena atoning for the massacre she supposedly caused some years before while traveling with Borias in the East. It is no guess work to figure out that Xena willingly died a warrior death because she could only battle and destroy Yodoshi, the Lord of the Dark Land, by becoming a ghost herself.

After defeating the evil spirit of the warlord Yodoshi, Xena, regrettably, was ready to trade her chance for a resurrected life for the release and peace of the 20, 000 souls harmed by her and of those imprisoned within the evil warlord. Only now was Xena able to atone with her own death the deaths of the innocence villagers whose souls were not at rest. This was information that Akemi withheld from her, and the Ghost killer revealed it to her after she had died.

Gabrielle only learned the truth when she was stopped by her friend while attempting to bring Xena back to life by sprinkling her ashes into the water of a magic pond that flowed on the peak of mount Fiji. Xena succeed in stopping her friend but only by telling her the truth of why she (Xena) must stay dead. Xena’s revelation to Gabrielle was a great and heart felt shock. No matter how reluctantly Gabrielle took this news, she honored Xena’s wishes and the pair waited arm in arm for the sun to set, and when it had, Gabrielle was alone.

This is all bare bone back story from the series finale. I wrote it here so to better understand where I am going or at least attempting to go in the resurrection of Xena and there by making my quest to bring Xena back to life believable. It will be a joy to write and to see produced. I look forward to many hours of writing, cursing and mind bending decisions and scenarios until I have told the story. Or, as some of my stories seem to do, take me alone for the ride.

The two feudal warlords once partners in series of most often than not bloody and illegal raids, murder, torturous imprisonment and over taxation of the villagers were now bitter enemies and battling each other. The people of the land felt that they were nothing more than prey to those who ruled in the city Higuchi and its surrounding villages. Yet, one of the two feuding warlords seeks change. He is Tomyko, the warlord whose fortress lies south of city. His physicians have told him that he is dying and that the disease that is riddling his body is incurable.

Tomyko has accepted his fore coming death but before his passes, he wishes to rid himself of a secret that has greatly burdened him since its dreadful hatching in a barren room of his palace. It is a secret so dark that it has the ability to destroy his nemesis, Khika, whose palace lay east of the city. For all the secret’s destructive abilities to himself and Khika, it also contains the seeds for returning peace to their feudal torn land.

Tomyko knows Khika to be a brash brut of a man and that Khika fearstheir secret getting out. Yet, unlike Tomyko who seeks to regain the honor he lost  in that dank room so many year ago, Khika fear is based on the return of Xena, the Warrior Princess,  who by sacrificing herself, ended the reign of his mentor, Yodoshi, Lord of the Dark Land. Khika fears the secret surfacing so much that throughout his providence he has forbidden all writings and mention of the warrior princess. If a villager and monk were to do so, it often ended with an immediate forfeit his life.

When the break between the two warlords occurred, Tomyko sent a messenger to find Gabrielle because she alone holds the key to bringing Xena back from the grave.
