IMPORTANT INFO FOR WOMEN

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

The following message was an email circulating around the office today. It appears to have originated from someone in Tallahassee. The original author is unknown.

----------

SUBJECT: IMPORTANT INFO FOR WOMEN

Because of recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation... This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you....chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS!) The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.  a. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you.  If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:

A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat

B..) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most
serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while
the women are attempting to get into their cars.

C..) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP. It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

                                                  ----- Here it is-----

9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought
it was weird. The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOTopen the door." The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of theirhomes thinking that someone dropped off a baby He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night. Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby.

This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana. I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as well.  Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Mayor Action Center Update

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

and I should be in choir rehearsal at this hour, but I am in the middle of a major upgrade that is taking more time than I had, originaaly expected. However, I want to say a few things about the previous entry.

To begin, I do not like to speak or write about unpleasant things in my life. Nevertheless, there are times when occurrences like that of the previous entry must be addressed.

As it turned out the call showing as coming from the Mayor Action Center came from a friend whose phone is connected to the center. This friend was unaware of the problems I have had in the past with people misusing the center’s extension. I did explain it to him and he appeared to understand. However, unless others have experienced what I have experienced with the center’s extension, it would be hard for them to understand my feeling about it.

In this matter, I think informing other of my experience is the right things to do. I stated in an earlier entry that I am not posting entries of this nature to win anyone popularity contest nor to get people to like me. I am doing is help prevent and/or stop pr prevent such abuses from happening to others.

I believe that if my experiences can save another from such crudity or help ease their pain by letting them know they were not the first and they are not alone, then post the entries I will.

. . . And Now For Some Bad News

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

On Tuesday August 22, 2006 and exactly at 2:22 PM, I received a call that logged into the missed calls area of my cell phone. It was entered as coming from the Mayor’s Action Center. For many of us who live here in Saint Petersburg, we know that the Mayor Action Center number is a common and multi-departmental number for frequently called departments within city and county. Some of these departments are Fire Department, Waste Management, Sanitation and the perhaps the most called department of all, Saint Petersburg Police Headquarter.

What this means to us is that although each department has its own direct number, they are also links to the Mayor Action Center number. This number is often viewed when one of these departments return a call to us. This also means that unless someone from one of those departments calls us from their direct departmental line, you have no idea where that person is or who person is that placed the cal to you. Again, you only know that the number on your caller ID registered as coming from the Mayor Action Center.

Why do I bring this up? A few years back a person and/or persons used the Mayor Action Center number to harass me. That person or persons who used the number knew that I could not trace their calls, and that I was going on their word that they where who they representedthemselves to be.

Generally, when call comes in from the police department it will register with the Mayor Action Center number. A few years back, I was frequently going to court on a matter that still involves a couple of families on this avenue. Because of this, I have to talk with various police officers.

It was during this period that problems arose with the Mayor Action Center number. Sometimes there appeared to be no one the line. The person would say something rude or the number would be listed when I returned from attending an errand, but no one from the police department could tell me where the calls came from nor who made them.

However, I became even more concerned when I received a couple of calls registered with the Mayor Action Center number and the person on would identify himself as a police officer who begin questioning me about matters that I had already shared with the an officer on my original report.

The second time this happened I became suspicious and questioned the caller. I asked his name, his badge number and his direct police line so that I call him back and verify that he and his called was genuine. I never got the information, so I ended the call. From that time on, I have not accepted calls showing the Mayor Action Center number, unless I am expecting the call, and that I am aware of who the person who is going to call me. I may still request a direct number and call the person back.

Tuesday, I was not expecting a caller Mayor Action Center number, and I know whom I trust within the police department and gave my cell phone number. This call I was not expecting, and I received no return call from that day, but I did restated that I was not receiving calls registering that number without caller the call name and number to verify.

We hear all the time about home invasion by people pretending to be police officers. We also hear a lot about drivers pretending to police officers. Now I am adding people who misuse the Mayor Action Center number because it is untraceable and has been to my past distressed a tool used to mislead, harass, and intimidate a victim of crime. Do I have some idea what group of people may have talked someone into making the call to harass? Yes, because they did it in the past.

Could one of these unscrupulous people have gotten my cell phone number and had me called on Tuesday? Yes indeed. However, I missed the call, and since I have not any experienced harm, nor I received another call, I consider this incident as a “wrong number”.

Nevertheless, I have written this because I lived through this type of harassment once before, and I will not live it again. In addition, I do not want anyone else to live it.

TRANSFORMERS NEWS

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

I am in!  That is . . . , I am in the Transformers official website. It was my understanding that the poblem with getting on to the site in the past was due to the large number of fans wanting to get access at the same time.  However, that problem appears to be cleared. Below I have provided the official Transformers movie link. As with all new sites. there is not much to see right now. There is some neat wallpaper for downloading (such as the one pictured above which looks so like a eye to me) and a great movie teaser. I believe it is Optimus Prime who destroys the space probe. Fans can also register a membership.  The movie is due out 7-04-7. Neat!

Burroughs' Diet

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

The first thing that struck my eye after booting up my internet connection was this, “Beyonce’s Breakthrough Diet". As someone who has been avoiding the issue of shedding of a few pounds (I am admitting this?!), I tried to avoid the article. However, curiosity led me to read about this marvel of the diet.

What I discovered was that this is really an older diet created by Stanley Burroughs some 50 years ago, and it is commonly known as the Burroughs' Diet. It is a simply diet that cleanses of the body system of bad toxins and as an added bonus reduces body weight. By fasting, a dieter can lose 2-3 pounds the first week and up to 20 pounds within 40 days.

The diet consists of drinking a mixture of lemon juice, real maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in 8 ounces of water. Sounds good. Must try!

The article also offers aid to keeping ones bowel movements stimulated with a laxative tea, as well as how to safely and slowly adapt to eating fool again without the binging.

The following links leads to the Doctor Black Org and the two articles on Beyonce, her up coming role in the movie, “Dreamgirls”, supposedly based on the dramatic lifestyles of the singing artists The Supremes,  which eventually led to their split in the latter 1960s, as well as Beyonce's success with the Lemonade Diet.

The Beauty Of Lucy Lawless

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

I know, I know. I should be sleeping at this hour. However, tomorrow is Friday and the end of another work week for me. This being the case, I just had to post a collage I just finished of my favorite actress. Yes, you guessed it! Lucy Lawless.

In her role as Xena Warrior Princess, Lucy dyed her hair dark brown. Many thought it was black, but it was a very rich dark brown. Given her natural features, she was able to carrying off the color change without looking harsh. The photo on the left was taken in April 1999 a year prior to the ending of her series.

Today in this 2006 photo, Lucy is gracefully pictured with her true blond coloring. It is a striking pose and truly compliments her natural beauty. I created this as desktop wallpaper, so it is twice the size of what is shown here.

One can see from both photos that Lucy Lawless is a great beauty no matter what color her tresses.

While Xena Warrior Princess can only be seen on DVD or at reruns on Oxygen, D'Anna Bier (Lucy's new role on Battlestar Galactic) can be view this fall starting October 6, 2006 on the SciFi Channel. We will also see more of the Cylon world. We will also see how they evolve to a state of where a very human moral issue like the killing one of their own changes their perspectives of themselves and their society.

LAST CHANCE - SEASON ONE OF ROME LAST AIRING

Evelyn Here,

Okay here it is. The last chance to see season one of HBO's Rome. For those of you who still have not caught the show, Rome will be airing on HBO2 throughout the rest of the summer. Rome’s second season begins in January 2007. Once the season two ends there will be no more Rome for us devoted fans.

Although many distraught fans are already mourning the series lost and are beginning to request from the series creators and producers a third season, at the BBC Rome website the BBC posted, “this series in now ended”. That seems final to me. However, for the millions of diehard fans out there, the links below is where you can contact the HBO and the BBC about renewing Rome.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/rome/

http://www.hbo.com/rome

Fans must remember that it was the cost of producing the series in Italy that helped HBO and the BBC maintain their original decision to keep Rome as a two season mini-series and not the lack of viewer-ship because the show is an international success..

Nevertheless, Rome will air every Saturday night at 9 PM ET on HBO2. In addition, the first season of Rome is now on sale.

The collage above was made with a photo from the series. It is the satandard used by the XIII legion to which Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson) and Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) belong.

Some Interesting Quotes And Proverbs

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

Below are some interesting quotes and proverbs on Teamwork, Self-Respect., Self-Awareness, and on being - Woman.

----------

On Teamwork . . .

Robert F. Bales
Effective teamwork will not take the place of knowing how to do the job or how to manage the work. Poor teamwork, however, can prevent effective final performance. And it can also prevent team members from gaining satisfaction in being a member of a team and the organization.

---

Henry Ford
Coming together is a beginning.
Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success.
---

Robert F. Bales
Effective teamwork will not take the place of knowing how to do the job or how to manage the work. Poor teamwork, however, can prevent effective final performance. And it can also prevent team members from gaining satisfaction in being a member of a team and the organization.
----------

On Self-Respect . . .

Doc Childre, Self Empowerment
Self-empowerment - that's learning to respect other people's music, but dance to your own tune as you master harmony within yourself.
----

Jane Haddam
In my day, we didn't have self-esteem, we had self-respect, and no more of it than we had earned.

----

Anonymous
Self-respect can be a extension of your ego or a priceless virtue.

----------

On Self-Awareness . . .

Doc Childre and Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution
When emotions are managed by the heart, they heighten your awareness of the world around you and add sparkle to life. The result is new intelligence and a new view of life. Just be sincere in your efforts and appreciate the progress you make, not expecting to be free from unpleasant emotions all at once. Each success builds more power and excitement. It gets easier as you go. When long-standing emotional issues lose some of their intensity and importance, things won't bother you as much.

----

John Wesley
When I was young I was sure of everything; in a few years, having been mistaken a thousand times, I was not half so sure of most things as I was before; at present, I am hardly sure of anything but what God has revealed to me.
----

Sydney J. Harris
It's surprising how many persons go through life without ever recognizing that their feelings toward other people are largely determined by their feelings toward themselves, and if you're not comfortable within yourself, you can't be comfortable with others.
----

William Faulkner
Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.

----------

On and From Women . . .

Eleanor Roosevelt
You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
----

Lauren Bacall
Imagination is the highest kite one can fly.
----

Doc Childre and Bruce Cryer, From Chaos to Coherence
To avoid repeating the same energy-draining fights of the past 30 years and accomplish something lasting, the coherent self-empowered woman will learn to bypass reactive, energy-draining stances. She will recognize it is more intelligent and effective to do so. Taking a heart stand facilitates a whole new level of power and renewal by being the vehicle for actualizing core values, free of mental and emotional reactiveness that add more noise to a noisy system. Conscious heart intention is the first step, derived from the intuitive link and balance between mind and heart, increasing the power of both.
----

Edna O'Brien
The vote means nothing to women. We should be armed.

Todays Christian Woman

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

Today I overheard some pointless remarks that made me thankful to be the christian woman that I am becoming. I say "becoming" because I believe as Catholics we are always trying to become better christians every day of our lives.

In so saying this, I will not repeat what I overheard. However, it was right in the middle of the category called major "trashy". The remarks was so unexpected in a workplace that I believe that everyone in hearing distance was offended.

From my point of view there has been too much of this women belittling women business.  Which is nothing but bad business. As one woman told me, it is about jealousy. However, I think it just lack of respect and lack of manners towards the person the remarks were aimed at and those of us who were unfortunate the overheard them.

I believe that when people go out of their way to belittle another as these women did today, they lose a bit of self-respect and respect in the eyes others.

While surfing the web as is my want I came across the following link for Todays Christian Woman Com. I also subscribed to the magazine.

Collier County Man Gets 7 Years for Cocaine Trafficking

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn here,

You have heard the saying, "Crime does not pay". Well, trafficking in illegal drugs certainly did not pay for one Collier County man who is now going to served a sentence of eighty-five months in state prison. Collazo-Lopez was arrested in January 2006 after selling cocaine to undercover agents twice last year. Below is the news release from the Office of the General, Charlie Crist.

TALLAHASSEE - Attorney General Charlie Crist today announced that a
Collier County man has been sentenced to 85 months in state prison after
pleading guilty to trafficking in cocaine. Yudemich Collazo-Lopez pled
guilty to trafficking in more than $3,400 worth of drugs.

Acting on information from a confidential informant, authorities
purchased four ounces of cocaine from Collazo-Lopez, 24, during two
separate controlled buys in December 2004 and January 2005. Collazo-Lopez
was arrested in January 2006. The investigation and arrest were conducted
by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Collazo-Lopez was prosecuted by
Crist’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.

"Illegal drugs threaten our families and tear apart our communities,"
said Crist. "Drug dealers have no place in our neighborhoods and must be
prevented from harming countless Floridians."

Collazo-Lopez pled guilty to two counts of trafficking in cocaine, 28
grams or more, and one count of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, 28 grams

Martinez, 34, was also arrested in January for participating in one of the
buys. He is charged with one count of trafficking in cocaine, 28 grams or
more, and one count of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, 28 grams or more.
Those charges are pending.

In addition to the prison sentence, Collazo-Lopez was ordered to pay
$150,000 in fines and investigative costs. The sentence was handed down by
Collier County Circuit Court Judge Franklin G. Baker.

My God - An Orginal Poem

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

Below is a poem praising our Lord, Jesus Christ. I wrote it back in October of 2005. i ran across it today while looking for another document. I edit a litle but I still think it needs some work.  Nevertheless, here is "My God".

----------

My God

My God is an amazing God,

He loves me despite of me.

My Lord sees in me a heart of gold

with faults easily cleanse of sin.

My God knows that I love him

first and best of all.

My Lord, my God , my amazing King.

My God carries me through life's daily trials

that sometimes seems too great for me,

and He 's there to catch me before a fall.

My Lord wipes away the grievous tears

that others fail see, and embraces me

with spiritual mercy and tenderness.

My Lord, my God , my amazing King.

Horrors From The Illegal Drug Trade - Link Correction

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

On Friday August 4, 2006, our local newspaper the Saint Petersburg Times ran an article that struck me to the core. It was a story about the inhumane treatment of a young boy of ten at the hands of a beastly drug dealer.  It is also a story of abuse that all too clearly fits into the purpose of this blog, which is to offer helpful information to women as well as links for stopping all types of abuse and other crimes.

The article describes how a young boy’s desire to buy a go-cart led him into the cruel world of the illegal drug trade and child abuse. The article was entitled “Drug Trade Rough on Boy, 10”, and it was written by Abhi Raghunathan. If you live in the St. Petersburg area, then you know the story. If you have not read the article, the link below leads to a news release from the Saint Petersburg Police Headquarters.

http://www.stpete.org/police/press_releases/08-03-06child_abuse.htm

The above picture was once offered by Allposter.com, but they no longer have it. It is appropriately entitled "NO DRUGS", artist unknown.

Good Week

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

I had a great week at work. In stead of trying to "fit in", I put my attention on my duties and not on what was said around me. "Fitting in" have lost its appeal, and I have made up my mind to stay clear of such argumentative situations. I am quite happy avoiding it and it showed in how I felt after the workday was over. I mood was much freer and happier.

They now know that I am comfortable working this way. I work well with them; I just do need not all the confrontation that they appear to thrive on.

They know about the blog, and just as I thought, some have read it. They are not happy with what I wrote. I can not help that. I believe that telling the truth is the best recourse to stopping the bullying. I know they do not like me. I can respect that, but I do need to suffer their abuses.

I pray that I never have to write about workplace abuses again. Motto: Trust thyself, and deal with the other guy cautiously

More on Michael Bay's Transformers Movie

Hey all you adult Transformers fans!

Evelyn Here,

I say adult Transformers fans because if you were like me and you got hooked on the original cartoon and followed it to it last season when your children were much younger than they are today, then you know what I am talking about.  Sitting there each Saturday morning wondering if Silverbot, and  Cheetor, or Optimus Primal would defeat the evil Megatron and his minions

.

Well, today I found a  new link that had the latest on the news on Transformers movie due out on July 4, 2007.  Michael Bay is the director of this new movie. From of the pictures the movie is live actions. Still, I bet there will be a lot of computerized robots running around on  the screen for some scenes. The link Transformerland.com below contains links to more sites that have additional news, pictures, teasers, rumors, plot spoilers.  I am also including a link to ToyRocket.Com for collectors. Check them out.

HEX - The Final Season Episodes

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

For those of you who like the series HexBBC America will air its final season starting June 2007.  Yes, that is right - 2007. I found the show after it has been cancelled as a summer rerun.  I did not know that it was cancelled at the time. It was a good series, and although I saw many Buffy-like themes, the series took the viewer deeper into the realm of the demonic adventure with a theme that was clearly based on the Book of Enoch, an non-canonized and unacceptible book of scriptures. It has been around for centuries and banned God only knows how many times, but the book has become great research material for such story lines as Hex

I, for one, enjoy the series, but I guess that like The WB's Bird of Prey, Hex did not find its audience.

Camera Jockey

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

Regardless of past few weeks harrowing and to my thinking unnecessary events that has occurs in my life by people who fail to accept the truth and then move on with life for being blinded by their own deceptive actions, I am still very activity in my church. Phew! What a long winded sentence.

Yesterday after giving my choir director some photos from our trip to Celebration Station with our church youth group, he asked me if I would like to be the official photographer for the youth group ministry. I would take photos of the schedules activities. This music director is also the students youth minister and a family therapist.  Previously, I had shown him other photos that I took and some of my original artwork.  So, he knows me well enough to know that  I enjoy fiddling with graphic art and taking photographs.

Since I have become of “camera jockey” and my camera with me everywhere just in case I see something or someone that catches my artist eye, I said yes. Now I am waiting for my first assignment. It is really of small thing, but I think it is  cool.

Anyway, I am still in both choirs, but the Traditional choir is out for the summer and we will start up again this fall. With the Contemporary choir, we are singing all year long.

More Black on Black Crime: The Invitation

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

I just experienced a most disappointing display of social indifference today. For months now, I have been trying do what little I can to stop the flow of illegal drugs sold on the corner of my avenue and previous that I have tried to be the good citizen in reporting suspected crime.

The situation that I speak of today involves a co-worker who yesterday gave me strong impression that she was very concerned about the high rate of “Black on Black” in our city and particularly in her neighborhood, which differs from my neighborhood in location but crime wise the differences is small.

This woman invited me to join a rally that will be occurring tomorrow morning. I was delighted by her invitation and accepted. However, as with all such invitations that involve rally or marches publicly speaking out against crime, I wanted to check my source. I learned to do this after I was made a victim of “Black on Black” crime. I also check my sources because I know that the people I am trying to stop from selling the illegal drugs are not only still trying to cause my family and me trouble but have a relative working in the office who is actively pushing buttons to cause even more problems.

When I discovered that the woman who invited me to the rally was neither interested in it or getting involved with the problems of her own neighborhood nor the crime I face in my neighborhood, I wanted to understand why this change in her from yesterday. What I learned was that she never cared and because she made the situation into a screaming match, I came to believe that she and one or two others had done this on purpose but did not expect me to be so thorough and check into the situation. In fact she tried to talk me out of having my of deacon check to see if there would be anyone from of our parish who knew of the rally and if there might be someone who would be going that I could attend with.

Because it turned into a screaming match, we both had to speak with a supervisor and we were told not to talk about heated discussions such as religion and politics. This was fine with me; however,  I made it clear that I no longer trusted this woman and that my supervisor no longer needed to worry about me discussing such topics any more and that I not longer trusted the motivation of a woman who invites me to the rally she herself care nothing about getting involving in.

Of all those I have spoken to about the situation, the one question we all asked was,

“Why would she invite me or even mention it to me if she did not want to involve herself?”

I agree that in some cases politics and religion should not be discussed, especially if it caused situations like today. However, I thought we where two mature adult women who cared about ridding or at less reducing our neighborhoods of its crime and also finding solutions that might help to end the “Black on Black” crime which is  (as she stated) “common throughout the south side of the city where most Blacks lives”.

Lesson of the day: when it comes to standing up against crime whether it is “Black on Black” crime or from another source, trust no one, and if your instinct tells you to check the information provided to you, trust it.

Question: Was I further victimized by “Black on Black” crime today?

Scars

Hello Everyone,

Evelyn Here,

I stated once before I have some pretty nice and thoughtful friends who email me some extraordinary and beautiful stuff at times. Today is no difference. Below is a story about life's scars, the unseen as well as the seen, and how Christ’s unending love for us make those scars bearable. The story is entitled The Scars of Life.  Thank you M. Know that you are loved by me and by Christ.

For clarity, I took the liberty to flesh out the tale in the area of the story where it was unclear.

The Scars of Life

Some years ago, on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hold behind his house.

In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving

behind his shoes, socks and shirt as he went.

He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore.

His father working in the yard saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as loudly as he could.

Hearing his voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his father. It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him.  From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father, but the father was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard his screams, raced from his truck with rifle in hand, saw the drama before him, took aim and shot the alligator.

Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved.

The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, "But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn't let go."

You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you.

The Scripture teaches that God loves you. You are a child of God. He wants to protect you and provide for you in every way But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms, be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go.

Never Judge another persons scars, because you don't know how they got them... Also, it is sooooo important that we are not selfish, to receive the blessings on these messages...without forwarding them to someone else. Right now, someone needs to know that God loves them,

and you love them too...enough not to let them go...
